I have seen it come up several times, do a key search in the VJ bar and see if some threads pop up.

NVC Received : some dinkelsberry yehoo in the house of clingons send our petition to the wrong consulate.

Consulate Received : July 30,2014 Transfer to right embassy complete.

Interview Date : Oct 22, 2014

Interview Result : AP , requesting another PC (not expired) and certified divorce decree (was submitted)Stokes interview via phone for petitioner 4 hrs after interview.

Oct 23 email notification visa approved.
Visa Received : Nov. 3 , 2014 VISA IN HAND.

US Entry : Nov. 21, 2014

Marriage : Dec 27, 2014

AOS send : May 12, 2015, received May 14, 2015 USPS priority

Email &text : May 18, 2015, check cashed May 19,2015, return receipt May 21, 2015 stamped USCIS Lockbox, NOA1 (3x) May 22,2015

Biometrics : June 1, 2015 letter received for appointment June 8, 2015, successful walk-in June 1, 2015

RFE : June 12, 2015 for income not meeting guideline. Income does ( ! ) exceed guideline.

RFE response : June 26, 2015 returned with a boat load full of financial evidence.

UPDATE: July 5, 2015 updated on all 3 cases, RFE received June 30, 2015.

Service request : Aug 12, 2015, letter received that it will be processed within 90 days from receipt of RFE.

UPDATE: Aug 24, 2015, EAD card being produced/ordered. ( 102 days from AOS receipt day and 55 days from RFE response received.) Thank you Jesus !

Renewal EAD in production notification text and online, expedite successful 4 days after RFE request response was faxed, Aug25mailed,Aug29received.

Sept. 21 Interview, 2 hour interview, we were separated and asked about 50 questions each for an hour each. IO was firm but professional, some smiles.
Several service requests made, contacted Senator and Ombudsman. Background checks still pending.
July 21, 2017 HOME VISIT.  Went well. Topic thread in AOS forum.
Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

Interviews for standalone I-130s are extremely rare, and usually only happen when USCIS suspect fraud, AWA-related issues, or some other kind of substantive problem.

And sometimes some computer operator may make a mistake. Or maybe they just have to do some now and then for quality control. I got scheduled for an interview and had to wait 10 months for our approval. I expected to be grilled at the interview as I thought the same thing - they must suspect something is wrong.

But the interview lasted about 10 minutes, if that. The first thing she asked was "Is your husband with you today?" I almost laughed!! I'm like ... uh, no...he's never left Pakistan." Then she looked at the I-130 and saw he had never entered. So she asked me his parents names, if I had some wedding photos, and for my husband's name and DOB. That was it. I had tons of info with me on my 3 trips to visit, joint bank accounts, joint tax returns, and much more. I wasn't asked for any of it. I think there was an error somewhere and they thought he was here in the US. And it wasn't our paperwork.

If they suspected anything was wrong, I think I would have been asked many more questions or had to provide more documents. She didn't even ask how we met! I'm just glad it's done. We are at NVC now and looking at a case complete (hopefully) in about 3 weeks.

So for those of you who are scheduled for an interview, don't panic. It might just be something a few of us have to go through now and then to keep the system in check. :) But it would be good to hear about some other experiences with this...

Hey amkhan,

We were told to expect an interview but just got approved a few days ago without it. If you were in removal after marriage (like we were) or if they seem to think your marriage is less than real are the two big reasons aside from the criminal stuff...and you said your wife isn't a criminal.

I would not worry over an interview. Our lawyer had prepared us for one and they usually address the validity of the marriage itself, how you met where, etc etc in a stand alone i130. It is a pain in the butt thought to wait on and deal with.

(STAND ALONE i-130/TERMINATION OF REMOVAL)

First met: Totally random by asking for directions, June 2014 while on vacation at Disney World (L)

Engaged: Aug. 21, 2014

Married: Dec. 1, 2014

ICE phone contact: sometime in early Dec. 2014- Co-operated, retained attorney who advised the same.

Filed stand alone i-130: January 2015 (VSC)

ICE home visit, schedule time to go to DHS office and NTA issued, date TBD, was not detained and released on own recognizance within an hour: January, 2015.

NOA1: Feb. 20, 2015.

Transfer to CSC to balance workloads: August 2015

1)First Master Calendar Hearing: Sept. 9, 2015-Continued based on pending i-130, new court date in 6mo.

Congressional Inquiry: Dec 8. 2015

We were told to expect an interview but just got approved a few days ago without it. If you were in removal after marriage (like we were) or if they seem to think your marriage is less than real are the two big reasons aside from the criminal stuff...and you said your wife isn't a criminal.

thanks for sharing ur experience but i am at my home country we did not filed for AOS my wife in US and i live in DUBAI

interveiw is not an issue for us but the problem is its been 1 years and till now no interveiw letter or approval

I had to hand write a detailed request and sign it, and have my senator fax it over along with their request. It basically said that despite me checking on my own and my lawyer, that I couldn't get any info and I wanted to know what was going on please. I'm not sure if you guys had a congressman check but maybe try again with a personal statement. We got our approval 2wk later.

we have contacted everyone Senator, ombudmen and now congressmen aswell plus one trip to local field office where our case is stuck and we do inquiry every month so dont know what else we should do....its really depressing peoples who applied after me someof them in already in states now....

Something similar happened to me except my i130 was approved in June, and then I was waiting to get something from the NVC but in September I got a letter saying I had an interview at the field office. So I went and explained to the officer that I had already gotten my approval letter and showed it to her, she told me it must have been a mistake and sent our file back to the California Service Center... and now when I check my case status its saying that it was sent back to the local office. I have called multiple times and cant get any information so we just sent an Ombudsman's request. Anyone have any advice?

well we sumitted our request to ombudsmen aswell on 28th of oct 2015 but no response from then aswell my lawyer advised to wait till Jan first week because its a festival reason peoples are on leave they will come back in Jan 2016. also i have requested to congressmen this week no response yet..... we have contacted Senator aswell and they are asking to wait till USCIS will sheduled an interveiw this process getting longer i dont know what to do even my lawyer cant explain it to me.... i dont think anyone can help you or me except USCIS it self...
