Im the wife of a us citizen, the CO said everything looked fine but you need to submit two more additional documents; which i did exactly after a week.

Now my case status updated two days after I submitted the documented which I understand means that they are acknowledging that they received my documents, but now it has been over two weeks and it hasn't updated yet.

I want to know if theres any severe back log or delay associated with 221g if my visa has gone to the back of the lot again, because holidays are coming and i really have to get there. Any idea how long it usually takes?

We are in a similar situation and it seems the delays for 221g are getting longer.

Also since you are from Pakistan, I understand that the review takes longer.

19 months!

Omg thats not good

Ok im really worried now! And i thought the time i was waiting for was tooo much.

I was reading some other forms about 221g and most people said they got their visas in about teo weeks. So here's hoping that we all get ours too!

Arghh and all these holidays are coming. Isn't there any way we can contact them to ask abit our ask apart from mailing NVC the typical way? Like is therr aby specific way to ask about 221g case progress?

I'm on the same boat. It's been 3 weeks still on Ap. Documents were received on November 24th at the US consulate in Montreal. Beyond frustrated but there is nothing can be done but to just wait.

If I'm not mistaken your interview was also in Montreal and our timeline of sending the documents were similar, mine were received on November the 24th. The last time I emailed them they said it takes up to 8 weeks to review additional documents but I'm hoping we get issued before the holidays. Keep me posted pls if you hear something new on your end.

Ray of sunshine

Where did you email them? The embassy or NVC?

Woah 8 weeks! I think i might faint:(

To the US consulate in Montreal Canada. That's where my interview was held. But Montreal is known to be extremely slow if they did take 8 or more it's not surprising, but we can wish and hope for a speedy results.

My wife's interview was at the US Embassy in Jamaica. We had to turn in the original of a document we missed. We had a colored copy which was mistaken for the original. The document was received at the Embassy on November 23rd, the interview being November 20th. They updated the case on November 25th, and also on December 7th but we are still in AP.

Have you seen any updates to your case?

That is crazy for the them to say 8 weeks, just absolutely ridiculous. They seem to really go out of their way to make it difficult for people.

They updated on the 24th andon their own and that's how I knew they received my documents. But after that all the updates happened bc I emailed them to inquiry about my status. The last time I received a reply is December 8th and that's the last date on my ceac and is still under AP. Montreal is known to be extremely slow good thing you are in Jamaica.
