USCIS screwed up my name

So I went to the Social Security office yesterday and Boy, do I get a surprise. The POE officer screwed up my name. I have a first name, 2 middle names and a last name. He put together my first name and both my middle names as one name without any spaces and missed an alphabet

Say my name was "john peter smith black"

He put it as

johnpetersmit black

Now my SS card was issued automatically and I have no idea where it is because I never received it and SS can't issue a new card because my passport name and my name on the records doesn't match.

I did get them to tell me my social security number though!

What do i do now?

Filed: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Country: Morocco
Timeline

first you should have been allowed to apply for lost and missing SS card

next you can change the name to correct one at any time / all you need is to know the number and show correct ID like birth certificate

The SS office should have helped with this / try a different office or person

and good luck

My wife does not have a last name or middle name, eg.. Jane Mary. The SS officer we submitted our application to verified name on the passport and visa. She showed us the printout, had us make sure the name and address are correct, then stamped the paper with her seal.

When the card arrived, the name was spelled exactly as we were shown on the printout, ie FNU Jane Mary.

Did you guys verify the name following SS submission?
