When I tried to check my case status online, my receipt number was not found and the same thing happened when I called. We filed in May 2015 and this was the first time I checked the case status. What should I do?

Re-read the Form I-751 NOA1 Receipt/Extension Letter that you mention. If I recall correctly, on that form it mentions that your have to use the receipt number that you will receive on the ASC Biometrics Appointment Letter to use on the online USCIS Case Checking site.

YMMV.

Pitaya is correct. You need to use the Receipt number from the biotmetrics letter. The NOA1 receipt number will not work.
