Green Card Renewal after 2 years w/K1

Hey all,

My wife is from Peru and came here on a K1 visa. We got married, she got her green card, and now it's coming time that the green card expires (around 4 months from now)

Question, do we simply try to renew her green card, or do we apply for citizenship? I've heard so many different things so I'm no longer sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You file to remove the condition on her green card.

As aaron2020 said, you have to apply for removal of conditions. You wife was given a 2 year conditional green card because you were married less than two years when she received it, after ROC she will receive a 10 year green card. After 3 years from when she got her first green card she can apply for citizenship.

This is exactly what we did and has worked perfectly.
