Hello !

So we are currently in the process of trying to obtain a K1 visa. I had my interview with the Lithuanian embassy on October 13, 2015 and everything went well.

The only problem is I cannot be issued the visa until I provide my penal record from the time I lived in Greece. I was told that I would have to apply in person at the Bureau of Penal Records for Foreigners in Athens. This places a financial burden on us and extends an already, lengthy process. Maybe smebody of you were going thru the same thing ? Is there any other way to get that record ?

BTW , i contacted the Greek embassy in Lithuania and they told me that getting a record thru the Embassy is not possible.!

Can you have someone apply on your behalf?

From this site http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country/GR.html

Penal Records for General Use

Non-Greek citizens residing abroad cannot apply for a Penal Record for Judicial Use. Rather, such applicants will need to apply (or have someone apply on their behalf) for a Penal Record for General Use. They can do this in person at the Bureau of Penal Records for Foreigners (Ipiresia Pinikou Mitroou allodapon), Mesogion 96, 101 79 Athens, Greece, tel. 210776-7300, 210776-7185, 210776-7186, & 210776-7043.

Greek Penal Records for General Use will be provided directly to the applicant.
