Hi all,

So I have been here in New York (Long Island) for over 2 months now after arriving on the K1 visa.

My Husband and i were married two weeks ago and I just sent off our AOS today.

I am just a bit anxious hoping that I got everything right - Can anyone tell me which field office/service centre would process my application so I can track the waiting time?

Also what is next? Do I just sit and wait for my NO1?

I sent in my application for EAD too so hopefully that doesn't take too long!!

Thanks!

All you need to do is;

1. pray and ask God to give you the patience you need for the remaining part of the journey.

2. you need to wait for mails from USCIS instructing your on the next steps.

3. you could also look for fellow October filers here on vj and you can keep track of your application time frame by comparing with others.

Since you are K-visa your are likely not to have an interview. Just sit back relax and let it playout.

Goodluck.

The NBC will process your application. Unfortunately there is no way you can track the waiting time for the green card, other than looking at timelines here on VJ.

The EAD/AP card will take 60-90 days.

You may get an interview waiver, in which case your application will stay at NBC until approved. If not, then your application will be transferred to your USCIS local office and you will get an interview appointment.

All the adjustment of status applications are first sent to the USCIS in Missouri to be reviewed. This office determines if the case will be waived for an interview. They have been backlogged in the past year, so to help process the cases faster, they started sending cases to other USCIS offices to help review the case.

Sometimes, despite the case have been waived, people still have to go through interview, but in most cases - no, that "other" office makes a decision :).. Wait time is unpredictable..

Good luck with your immigration journey!!!

Welcome to the US.

  1. Go to the SSA office near you and get your SSN, make sure you refer to this thread.
  2. Wait for your EAD before getting a job.
  3. Enjoy married life!

You'll get your initial email/mail with your tracking numbers and your NOA1. Then expect to wait about 3-4 months for the EAD/AP, and around 8 months for the AOS.
