How to ChangeInterview Date (to earlier)

Hi VJ.

My partner and I have officially gotten a case complete and have a scheduled interview. It's been such a long wait. I've been here since end of May, and cannot wait to move back to the USA with my husband.

I wanted to know how can I actually move up our interview date. I know DCF filers are able to manually add in an interview date, and those of us going through USCIS and NVC are given a date. However, a DCF'er told me they moved up their interview date when a cancellation or another appointment became available. Through USTravelDocs I input our VAC appointment, we finished that. We're going to complete medical next, just getting him vaccinated somewhere more affordable first (tomorrow). So Medical will happen this coming week.

We have all of our paperwork. How can I move up our date? It's scheduled for November 18, 2015. However, I just logged into USTravelDocs and it said, "Earliest available appointment, October 16, 2015." Being able to interview a month earlier would be amazing! I just don't know how to input a new interview date. The button showing available dates only shows up sometimes when I log in. Not all the time. It also isn't a clickable feature (from what I've gathered). Does anyone have any experience or advice with this? I don't want to screw up our original interview date and get myself in a mess.

I'm attaching a screen shot of what it normally looks like (of course the option isn't showing right now and I didn't take a screen shot when it was earlier tonight because I was frantically clicking around trying to figure it out myself).

Thank you!

Okay, here is a copy of it with the available date. It isn't clickable, this is confirmed.

That earliest available date can refer to VAC and not consular interview. Hmm. Did nvc schedule consular interview for you? If yes, I believe ustraveldocs is not the way of going about it. I think you need to notify nvc of your request and go on from there. Dont take my word but thats what I think. Hopefully someone else can jump in and confirm for you.

Unfortunately if the interview is already scheduled and the packet is at the embassy the NVC will be of no help to you at all. Their only response will be is to contact the embassy.

The only way to contact the embassy with any success is through USTravel docs which i feel is nothing more than a glorified answering system. They know absolutely nothing!

Send a email asking for a earlier interview date through ustravel docs and hope for the best.

Nvc set the date?

want an earlier date?

ask for it, at the iv unit. If they can accomodate you, they will.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I found out I can actually change it, it's under 'set appointments' I then click 'option 3' or rather, say yes to it. It's not really applicable to my case entirely - which is a question of ethics - like would that piss them off/would my packet be there in time. I saw two 7A appointments available in the next 2 weeks, then 3 in the week of my interview date. Once my husband completes his medical I'm going to move forward with changing the interview date online or check into asking the IV unit - I'm not sure I know who that is/how to contact them.

Thanks for your input everyone.

Does anyone have experience changing their interview date online once NVC scheduled it?

Is your CEAC status "AT NVC" or "READY". Ready normally means that your packet is at the embassy already.
