Hello!

Here is my question : I wanted to know if the number of interviews available are the same for CR1 visas and fiance visas. In other words, do embassies give priority to certain visa types?

I am just trying to reassure myself because I have seen people applying for fiance visas wait two months after case complete to have their interview... And I think it´s a long wait for Paris... :(

Any way to get an early interview? (Contacting the Embassy once the interview is scheduled, NVC..?!)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Okay first more info please. You have case complete 9/25 and you have interview date. So you must be an expedite? If so they gave you the earliest they can give.

No one can tell you what # is slotted for any embassy for any category of Visa. No IR1/CR1 do not get priority over any Visa Category. Most embassies the slots are in abundance for Tourist and Business Visa and Student Visa.

Some embassies have a longer wait than others. France isn't that busy. Also for K1 Visa type they schedule themselves and there are usually more of those types than married people and their slots fill fast. It's first come first serve.

it is good you got an interview scheduled. You can request an earlier date from the Embassy. I have seen others do that after they had an appointment.

As you could see on my timeline my case complete is sept 25th and my case is at the NVC since july 15th. I did not say I have an interview date when I wrote this because I did not have it yet. Not too long after writing this I called and I have been told my interview is on Nov 25th. And nope, am not an expedite.

I know it is not possible to get the number of interviews available, I only tried to know if I would have to wait as long as a fiance visa and if regarding interviews, the process was the same. And you answered my question, thank you :)

I will do that first thing tomorrow. Hopefully they have something earlier

Okay you went through NVC. So once your status changes to Ready, means your case file is at embassy then you can email them and request an earlier date. Thanks for the clarity. So just today you found out. I have updated you.

Look at the first post in the interview thread. Example of a email to send to embassy to request earlier date. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/563956-october-2015-interviews/page-113#entry7837318

Contacting embassy now is futile your case file isn't there yet. You have to wait until your case file is at the embassy. Than you can contact and ask for an earlier date.

You are welcome. Hopefully your case file should maybe go out next week. Hard to tell since it looks like they just started scheduling. And I know they send in bunches. Just keep eye on your status to change to IN TRANSIT than when it is at embassy and logged in its READY with Case Status date.

thank you for explaining what in transit and ready mean because I had a doubt, at first I thought that "ready" meant ready to be given a date! :)
