K1 visa: birth records, how many for marriage/SSN/AOS

Hi everyone.

Does anyone know how many birth records will I need once I'm in the USA? I guess I need to show it when I get married, to get my SSN, Driver's license, and of course when I do the AOS (I don't know if I'll need it for more things). So, when I do that paperwork, do they keep the original record or only need a copy? Should I bring several birth records or just with one (or 2) is ok?

On the other hand, I know I need to have it translated into english, I've read here some people that have done it by themselves. Did you do your own translation? I was thinking of doing it in my home country, but after reading that I think it will be better (and I will save some money) if I translate it myself and just have it notarized. Any suggestion?

Thanks ins advance for your help

So, I'll need 4 original records.

I've read ppl has done their own translations and I would like it to do as well.

Here, they ask me for several things, and want me to get more documents, it's seem is easier to do it in USA

You need only 1 original birth certificate. You might be required to take original with you in person for some application/interview but your original one will be returned back to you. They will only keep the copies of your birth certificate.

You do need the original English translation of your birth certificate, so it's better to make several English translations with sworn statement and original signature of the translator.

You will need to submit the copy of your birth certificate and the original translation of BC for AOS.

You are not allowed to translate it yourself.

Can I get the birth certificate translated in the USA, or it must be done in my home country?
