So I have been happily in the US since June, got married to my husband at the end of July, and sent off my AOS on the 18th of august. Today however, we received a letter, or rather my husband, from USCIS. It says

NOTICE OF DECISION

This notice is in reference to for I-129F, Petition for and alien Fiance, filed pursuant to Section 101(A)(15)(K) if the Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended. The petition was approved and was forwarded abroad to a United Stated Embassy/Consulate with a validity of four months. Subsequently, the petition has been returned to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) with the finding that the beneficiary was not issued the requested K-1 visa. Since the period of validity has now expired the petition will not be re-validated. Therefore, in accordance with 8 C.F.R. 214.4 (k)(5), all USCIS action on this petition is concluded as of the date of this notice. However, the petitioner may choose to file a new Form I-129F, Petition for an Alien Fiance, for the beneficary with fee.

So I am more that a little cofused as this is dated the 19th of August, the day after we filed our AOS. But also because I clearly did get my K-1 visa. I don't know if I should be worried, or really what to do. I rang the NCSC and they said once I get my noa1 for my AoS in the next 30 days that I shouldn't worry, But I am worried. Any thing I should do?

talk with an ISO on the telephone, as it smells like there was some data error somewhere.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Someone posted the exact same situation very recently. It's likely a DoS error, in that they failed to correctly notify USCIS that a visa was issued, or USCIS failed to properly acknowledge the notice from DoS.

I'd suggest an Infopass appointment at your local office, or call and speak to a tier 2 representative (i.e. an actual USCIS IO) on the phone.
