Receiving green cards after first entry into U.S.

Hi,

We arrived in the U.S. around 3.5 weeks ago and so far have not received our green cards. How long did it take you to receive yours?

I just checked the USCIS online site but our case still shows "optimized" (this was the status before we even arrived here) and payment status still shows "submitted." Is this how it is supposed to look? It does say August 17th as the latest status date, suggesting some update has happened, but as far as the info on the screen goes there has been no update since when we were still in Hong Kong.

A couple of things that concern me are:

a) I made the immigrant fee payment using a Citibank Hong Kong-based credit card. The payment did go through so I didn't think anything of it but I've heard some people say it must be done using a U.S.-based credit card. Is this true?

b) The green cards are supposed to be mailed to a friend of mine, and when I was filling out the ds-260 I entered the address in "C/O my friend's name" format to make sure it would not be returned. Do you think there might be an issue with this?

Thanks!

Everything sounds fine to me. A person on another forum has just reported his card being mailed to him, 6 weeks after entry. Up to 2 months wait is quite normal, after that you can start making queries. 4 weeks is usually absolute minimum.
