Judging by what I see on VJ more than likely you're about to get issued..why were you on AP?

Its been almost 3 months and you still dont have the visa? Obviously you were put on the AP that is very different from the AP after approval. What I mean by that is that in most cases once approved the person gets the visa in a short period of time, but when months have gone by and you still haven't received your visa it could mean that immigration received a hit which prompted them to put you on AP. NOW, This does not mean that you wont receive your visa (specially in your case which I think you should be receiving it any day now) but there must have been a flag or a reason why. Would you ever know? Maybe yes, but sometimes it can be a just because situation. ..have you inquired about why it's taking so long? Do you have an idea of why you were put on the dreadful AP?

Ckeck is has changed from immigrant to noimmigrant?

If says noimmigrant , then that means they are ready to issued very soon.

but if say immigrant then you need wait or involve your congressman or senator office to find what going on.

Its says nonimmigrant...which is I guess a good sign. Why does that make a difference?

It almost always goes

Ready---Waiting for Interview or Interview over and file hasn't been looked over yet

AP---Final look over paperwork and completed any investigations they didn't do before interview (or things they want to look into from interview)

Ready--Investigation all good. Waiting to be processing for visa printed (changes to non-immigrant)

AP--Paperwork for visa printing in work...sent to printing section of embassy

Issued---Visa Printed and inside passport

The second ready it changes from immigrant to non-immigrant. It matters because up until they issue it's treated like immigrant. Just before print it's changed to nonimmigrant since that's what the visa is a non-immigrant visa. We all know because we scour and read the boards on here.....that's is how it always is...always.

Shauneg, how does it changes from immigrant to non-immigrant? In other words, are you referring to the CEAC website where you choose, "Check my visa application status"? At this point our K1 case is in AP and can only be checked by choosing ""Immigrant" - Check my visa application status". Once this changes to "ready" I will then need to look under "Non-Immigrant" - Check my visa application status in order to check on the status?

Many thanks!

You check the status on ceac under immigrant and on top you will read nonimmigrant.

All the time you check on immigrant but on top they changes.
