Was just wondering if there was a place that gathers people's stories on the general process of interviewing?

There's little details that would be worth knowing, like apparently you have to get a locker to put your valuables in and such.

You do not need a locker for your valuables in London. There a few prohibited items like weapons, explosives....

Just to note: the US Embassy in London does not allow mobile phones to be taken in.

The embassy in London ALLOWS mobile phones. That page is an old page. I gave you a link to the current security page. The policy change was first discussed in the UK forum in Feb 2014. This is a post with an email from London confirming the change.
