Embassy/NVC visa fees

We recently received passports for my fiance and her baby. It appears the instructions for paying the visa fee for the embassy application has changed.

Does she submit the DS-160 and then the NVC invoices the fee? Or should I have received an invoice from NVC? I have not.

K-1 applicants do not get invoiced by the NVC.

So, the instructions from the Manila website are not correct? How did you know they recently changed then?

You must pay the visa fees before doing the DS-160s. The NVC is done with you after they send your petitions to Manila.

Print the reciept below, make sure you refresh your browser before printing each time so that you get seperate reciepts numbers, one for each visa and go to a local BPI to pay.

Many threads of information about the process of completing the steps in the process are outdated. Even some current threads have bad links and incorrect information.

Yesterday I read a link for the website Visa-Connection which says the K-1 fee is $ 240. I know that is wrong, but people on Visa Joutney are still being directed to that link!

This is why people should not rely only on forums, hearsay, links to other third party DIY sites. And when using sites like VJ, always check the dates of the posts.

You should always check the information directly from the consulate website and the Dept.of State site at travel.state.gov. Those will be your number one best bets for the most up-to-date accurate information regarding required documentation and fees.
