I got my NOA2 on 06/03 and NVC case number created on 06/16.

I checked CEAC website today, it says my case is in administrative processing. Does it mean it is still at NVC or already at Embassy?

thanks!

If you have not received a packet 3 notification then it maybe at the NVC still. AP just means that someone is reviewing and preparing it for whatever stage you maybe at. AP will appear again post interview if your visa is approved.

Thanks.

Cannot understand why it takes such long time for NVC to process it. I found for many people the case arrives and leaves NVC very quickly.

I guess I can do nothing about it but wait, right?

for this exact timetick,

for a K-1 to be done at Guangzhou IV,

it means:

1. Guangzhou IV has decided to rely solely on the SAFEFILE version of the casefile and then

2. Guangzhou IV has OPENED the casefile and then

3. Guangzhou IV has started the next round of processing on the casefile.

Since it's right there, right now, suggest you two learn more about interacting with ustraveldocs.com/ch , paying the visa fee, and getting on the scheduling calendar. P-3's are nice and all, but you can shave a few weeks since the IV Unit in Guangzhou decided to use (solely) the electronic version of the casefile stored in the SAFEFILE system, not rely on the paper casefile and waiting 2 to 5 more months.

Dear Darnell,

Thanks for replying to my post. You must be an expert in the VISA process.

Your post has a lot of info which I am not familiar with.

I have some small questions:

1. do you mean my case is (electronically) in Guangzhou embassy and is being processed?

2. do you mean I can prepare P3 forms and mail it before I actually receive it?

thank you very much for your help!

lijun

Thanks. I registered an account on ustraveldocs.com. This website is used to schedule an appointment. This we understand. And the consular Guangzhou website says do not try to schedule an appointment until contacted by the consular.

Any suggestion?
