Hi guys! We're in the process of assembling the packet for my husband's AOS and of course we need his birth certificate translated. I've looked online all over the place to see how we can do that now here in the states and I'm confused as to what will be acceptable for USCIS. There are services available that I can upload the document and they can translate it, as far as I can tell from their websites, but is this legit? Any help would be greatly appreciated, we're a bit stumped on this one! Thanks!!!

Any fluent speaker of the two languages can translate the birth certificate. If your husband is fluent in Arabic and English, he can do the translation. He just needs to include a statement similar to this:

I, _________, certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and Arabic languages, and that the above document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled "______".

Ok, sorry, one more question. The search engine is pooping out on me. On the 325A form what is the A number? I can't seem to find anything that explains what that would be. Thank you and sorry to bother you!!!

If you do want to have it done professionally (which is not 100% necessary as was stated above) I used Rev.com for my husbands documents (I wasn't aware at the time that I could do it) and they were great. You can upload the document online (I just took a picture of it) and they have a 24 hour turn around. It was super easy and not expensive at all. :)

Met: 12/2011

Married: 12/26/2013

Interview Date: 8/27/2014 - APPROVED

REUNITED!: 9/10/2014

POE: Miami

I-751 & I-912 filed together: 6/16/2016

Package Received In CA Service Center: 6/21/2016

I-912: Denied 8/6/2016

It's your husband's "Alien" number. It should be on your NOA2 form.

Is it in the box that says Beneficiary and has a number beginning with A and then his name underneath?
