i have a question about my DS 160 . i am a beneficiary of a fiancee petition. in the form DS 160 I need to complete before the interview, there is a question asking if anyone has ever filed a petition on my behalf. Does this include the present petition for which I am a beneficiary, or they mean whether I have had another fiance who filed a petition for me before my current one. Is this a trick question that tries to find out if I have attempted before to get a fiance visa. this is the first time I have had a fiance in US who has petitioned for me, so I am not worried. I just want to write it correctly so I dont delay the process.

I was sondering the same and when I asked this question here people told me to answer NO on that, so I did. I have my interview next week and if they have a problem with that I will just try explain.

Exactly...just say no...if this is your first petition for US immigration, then your answer is no. "Has ever" is a past tense that refers to any events occurring before this current petition. :-)

Some of this paperwork is confusing and doesn't come with great explanations. I found the guides and forums on here to be far more helpful.

How about if the beneficiary has applied for a regular travel visa in the past, but was denied? I'm guessing no, since I wasn't the one that filed it on his behalf, he was.

Also, does anyone know if having that denied visa affects our current k1 petition? That's got me really worried.
