52 Days since e-mail notification of NOA-1 - (04-02-2015). USCIS online status check is garbage. Says case was last updated 04-13-2015 with absolutely no additional information. my question to everyone is as follows. If there were a problem with the documents, how fast would the USCIS inform you? Sorry, for seeming like I am impatient. I want to get on with the next stage of my life. Doesn't help that I'm a New Yorker and don't like waiting for something that should be so simple. Any past experiences, help, and advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry RUSH HOUR, but you're in the TSC and so you'll just have to wait. At last check the wait times were running about 7 months, with some of my fellow September 2014 filers STILL waiting after 8 months. Some petitions receive their NOA2 before that point, but not by much and those folk are very lucky. I personally waited 221 days, or 7 months, 1 week and 2 days for my NOA2 approval, for example. Things could change in the future, but after almost 2 months of a paradigm shift in the USCIS's I-129F distribution model to a workload-based design, things still haven't changed much. The TSC is still running about 7 months while the CSC is only 1 month or less.

And you can forget all about getting any information on your case by checking online or calling, at least not until you are AT LEAST very close to the "normal processing times" window having passed you by, which you are far away from at this point. I say all of this only to acquaint you with the fact that the USCIS is one of the most customer-unfriendly government entities that you can possibly imagine. We should know, we've all been dealing with them for some time now. So we can MORE than say that we feel your pain and frustration.

Regarding your question as to the speed with which you can receive an RFE (Request For Evidence, or the USCIS basically telling you that their was a problem with your petition), that too is highly variable. There have been many accounts of filers not receiving their RFE until VERY LATE in their wait. Some of my fellow September 2014 filers for example didn't receive their RFE until after 7 months of waiting. By contrast, others receive an RFE rather early, say after 1 month. It defies all attempts to predict it or to use the RFE as a measure of where your petition is in the process.

So good luck, join the TSC thread for your month where your fellow filers will commiserate with you and good luck on your journey!

ps-At 52 days since your NOA1, you are VERY much a baby in the TSC!

12/9/14 - "Updated" likely because of website repairs, like many of us received

4/29/15 - Sent to the NVC (9 days)

5/8/15 - Arrived at the NVC (9 days)

5/13/15 - Left the NVC (5 days)

5/15/15 - Electronic version arrived at the embassy (2 days)

5/20/15 - Paper copy arrived at the embassy (7 days)

6/4/15 - Status changed to AP (which meant that we could schedule the interview)

6/16/15 - Medical

6/17/15 - K1 APPROVED!!!!

6/30/15 - Passport and sealed envelope delivered via courier

correction: documents were Fedex'd to Texas, but case # begins with WAC, so I think its in Cali?

Since you're at California with WAC, congrats! You surely won't have to wait too much longer, but you will have to try to be patient with this process as unfortunately it's largely out of your control. A few weeks to a few months usually is typical, unless there is a specific issue with a case. Then you will have the rest of the stages to complete.

From the looks of it at igors, you'll be approved literally any day now. I bet by the end of the month. Csc is still running about a month to 1.5-2 months max for noa1 to noa2. Look at csc vs tsc= 1.5-2mo vs 7-8 months. Just sit tight.
