Can being on medical be a reason to deny GC holder on entering US after trip?

Hello everybody, I was wondering, me and my husband got approved for medical and enrolled on it

we both work and get around 350 a week, we pay rent, we have a sponsor that makes a lot of money and is on the US army that signed all the co-sponsor papers for us. I own a conditional green card based on marriage. my husband is a US citizen born here never married before. We do not receive food stamps or any other kind of benefit, we pay all out of pocket, and we pay taxes in every paycheck, expect for medical. Medical is the only thing we qualified for free and accepted.

Question, we are going to Brasil, my home country, for sickness on the family reasons, we gonna stay for 3 weeks.

When coming back, is there a chance that they gonna see that we both are on medical and find me ''inadmissible'' ? Also, occasionally me and my husband take a hit of weed because we both have arthritis , should we quit for a month or two before the trip?Can they test us for weed on the system on my way back?

What does being on medical mean? Are you referring to Medicaid?

I think this is a duplicate thread.

Medi Cal is open to GC holders from day one, some States like mine you have to be here 5 years. Medi Cal also provides coverage for illegals.

We do seem to have two sides of the Gov saying different things, nothing new, but California provide the benefit and make it clear that they do not share your immigration status so what the hell.

So what you are saying is, if I come back to the USA after my 3 week trip abroad on Brasil , with my husband, when we go through the line they will not ask if we have health insurance right? They only gonna check my green card and maybe our family leave papers from work, but the fact that we have medical will not interfere my immigration status? Is that what you are saying? That I don't have to tell anybody that I have medical for free and I can hide it from immigration, if they ask I can tell them I simply don't have health insurance and it won't be a problem?

I was going to cancel my medical already, so I don't have to right?

The Immigration Officer is not going to ask about your Health Insurance. Never lie, I have heard of some pretty weird questions but not this one, there is no connection.

Based on those 2 pdf documents, it seems like medical can not affect one's immigration status. The first one says that you can not lose your residency for being on medical, they can not make your sponsor pay for emergency uses and they might make the sponsor pay for non-emergency but there is no cases of california making the sponsor pay for medical uses.

The second says ''mmigrants should continue to use medical services without fear of immigration consequences. Using health care services, including Medi-Cal, generally does not affect a person’s immigration status. An immigrant’s use of health services is not considered in determining whether the immigrant is or is likely to become a public charge.6 If a hospital or clinic tells you that you cannot get an appointment or receive medical care unless you are a U.S. citizen, you should ask to speak to the person in charge at the hospital or clinic and ask for the medical care you may need. If you need further assistance, contact your local legal aid office or Health Consumer Center.'' But the document was made in 2006. Does anybody knows if this fact still remaining true and lawful for 2015 just so I don't have to cancel my only healthcare provided for free my medical because of my and my husband's low income ?

I would be very mad if they deny my re-enter in my country of residence (USA) just because me and my husband qualified and applied for free medical....

But if there's a chance that they might deny my re-entry based on that, or that it might affect my immigration, I would cancel it tomorrow..

They can not deny you entry, only an Immigration Judge can do that.

I can think of one example where there is a connection, you lied to get Benefits, claimed perhaps to be a US Citizen, you are caught prosecuted serve big jail time and then they may deport you.

But you would then be deported because you are a felon.

My only worry is that being on medical could be a potential problem, but it seems like not, so I guess I am good to go and stay on medical then? Because I remember filling the forms for me and my husband and I said I was a permanent resident and gave my alien number and SSN
