Hello!
Today I checked my status online and saw that they mailed my EAD today. It means I will get my GC soon? I have a friend who got her work permit last week and the GC this week, without interview. Is that possible?

The EAD and green card are processed differently so getting one doesnt mean the other is on the way. They are unrelated. You dont have to carry your passport all the time. You can use your EAD for

We filed AOS in May 2014, and are still waiting. We got a notice of interview waiver which the letter states the wait is 6 months but it is running about 11-12 months. Good luck to you and Jason! Enj

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I-485 and I-765 are adjudicated by different divisions within USCIS, so unfortunately your EAD approval does not mean anything with regards to your underlying application.

It means that you will likely get your EAD soon....I have a friend who got her work permit last week and the GC this week, without interview. Is that possible? Yes, there are cases of interview waiver AOS processing, check recent forum threads.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

9/01/15 AOS Interview Houston-APPROVED!

9/01/15 Card in production, Welcome notice has been mailed

9/05/15 Welcome Notice Received

9/08/15 Greencard was mailed

9/10/15 GREENCARD RECEIVED!!!!!!!!

6/2/17 mailed I-751 to csc priority mail

7/1/17 I-751 returned rejected (multiple items)

7/3/17 I-751 mailed again with signature confirmation

7/6/17 second I-751 delivered and signed for by Daniel Manchaca

7/10/17  Check Cashed

7/10/17  NOA

7/22/17  Biometrics letter for 8/2/17

8/02/17 Biometrics appointment DONE

3/05/18 case moved to local office

8/25/18 Extension letter (18 months)

9/29/18 service request submitted

Wow, this process can be very complicated, right? We are tired of waiting so long. Jason and I got so happy that they mailed my EAD. I wish they could be faster!

Oh, and thanks. Looks like they will do "Where Are They Now" very soon. :)

But you know, TV... they love drama.

Hi, I applied the first time in October and looks like they always wanted some kind of document. Then, after we send the documents they asked for, they changed my status saying they mailed my EAD. It was a relief. At least I can start living my life and help my husband to pay the bills!

You get the GC eventually. Soon? Ehh.. I'm not sure about that. I got the waiver letter last December and I'm still waiting for the GC.
