Police Certificate for Afghanistan and Pakistan

Hello all,

I have read one one Kabul embassy that police certificates were not needed. Does anyone have any experience on getting a police certificate from Afghanistan? Does anyone have the letter that is sent from the Kabul embassy on K-1 visas?

My fiance is attending a university in Pakistan and another VJ member gave us great instruction on how to get a Pakistani police certificate. The problem is that in the province where my fiance is, the police will hassle Afghans and he is not sure if they will give him a certificate since he does not have a Pakistani national identity card.

We are expecting about 30-40 days to try to get the Pakistani certificate. Does anyone know how long it takes to get one from Afghanistan?

Excuse me that is offensive. That's not true that Pakistani police hassle Afghans. If he has all the required documents and not an illegal immigrant living in Pakistan then he will definitely get his Police clearance certificate in 3 clear days.

We need not mean to offend, friend. There has just been some problems in the past is all.

In three days? The process that was explained by someone that had had their interview a few weeks ago had a tougher time getting their certificate! Will the authorities accept Afg passport as identification? Yes, the Pakistani visa is valid in the Afg passport.

Be careful with your wording please. Any way recently the Govt. specially in KPK is fantastic under Imran Khan and there shouldn't be any problem in getting Police clearance certificate inside the time range. I am Pakistani and i am resident of UK now, i also needed my Police clearance certificate from Pakistan and my brother in Pakistan helped me getting the certificate within 3 days. but you also need an attestation from foreign affairs department. if you need further information then let me know

You don't need a police certificate. If the Kabul embassy stated that it's not needed then don't make the process more difficult on yourself. We didn't get one either. And as far as the situation with Afghans in Pakistan, indeed they ARE being harassed whether one likes to hear this information or not.

Okay, we will wait to see what the Kabul embassy says. It looks like the Islamabad embassy or other embassies would require both. I finally received an answer back from the Kabul embassy and they were silent on whether we will need the certificates or not. All they said is the info will be in the email they send. So maybe they won't request them.

Just hoping the process won't be too hard on us!

I just found this note on the Islamabad embassy portal:

"Police certificate(s) from any country (except U.S., Pakistan, Afghanistan and India) where you are currently living or have lived for more than one year after the age of 16."

That will be one less thing to worry about!
