I think I received a false checklist the reason being is because we received the checklist e-mail but there has to be a mistake they say my sponsor/ joint sponsor does not make enough to satisfy the income requirements, but I know for a fact he does and when we checked the guidelines our joint sponsor is well over the required amount. In the e-mail they sent us this:

"We reviewed the Affidavit of Support documentation you sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). According to the current poverty guidelines, it does not appear you or any of your sponsors meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrant(s) for this petition. To avoid delays, you may have an additional sponsor complete an Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) and provide it to the intending immigrant to submit at their interview. At that time, a consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement."

We called the NVC twice and we were told that we were in line for an interview and that they haven't checked the AOS forms yet.

Should we send anything to the NVC or wait?

Thank you guys so much.

Well, it would seem to me that YOU are wrong. I mean, you are being flat-out told you don't meet the requirements. It's a simple thing for them to look at your forms and do the calculations. I highly suggest you re-evaluate your own numbers. It's unlikely they did the math wrong. You haven't posted anything for anyone to look at, so nobody can confirm it but you. Why wait around? Check your numbers again. Clearly there is an issue, so simply give them what they want or risk months of delay.

I do have to say that you do confirm my concerns about this website. I didn't really exactly trust the responses on here because I don't think everyone knows what they are talking about which is YOU clearly. I called the NVC yesterday to get some straight answers about my case and that is exactly what I got. First thing was our case was completed earlier in the week (28 days total) and we are in line for an interview. I then told them about the checklist I had received and they told me that I do not meet the income requirements and I told them my joint sponsor does. She then told me if I had sent in an I-864 for a joint sponsor they did not see it but that does not mean they do not have it. She told what happened is that someone who was looking over my case skipped over our joint sponsors forms. I then asked quite simply what do I do? She told me do not send anything to the NVC as far as they are concerned we are completed. Our joint sponsors forms will be at the interview and even if they are not just bring a photocopy of the I-864.

Please if you are going to help someone please be informed.

I received the same email saying me or one of my sponsors didn't meet the income requirements when we actually did, we complemented the income with a bunch of assets that can be easily converted in cash, plus bank statements.

Then I sent the NVC an email and they just replied with a "generic" response saying they already had all the paperwork needed to complete the process, that we should wait until we get an interview, that was all.

So I think we got a false checklist just like you (and I got it the same day you started this thread).

I hope this helps.

Ya as it turns out it wasn't really a fake checklist because when we called the NVC they told us that they didn't see our joint sponsor, but the lady on the phone said if you are 100% sure we sent it in (which I am because in the package we put my I-864 and the joint sponsors I-864 in the same envelope) then we should be ok at the interview as long as we have a photocopy which we do.

It just sucks now because we have had to wait til May to get an interview date.
