Hi everyone!

A while back I got a conditional green card, and in January I filed to get the conditions removed. I received my NOA extending my visa and on February 20, 2015 I went to get my biometrics done. Have not heard from USCIS since.

On June 21st I'll be leaving to Europe for one month. I am afraid that while I am gone I will receive a letter with my interview time, and even worst that the interview might be schedule while I am out of the country! So I wouldn't see the notice of interview and miss it!

I plan on calling USCIS tomorrow morning to see what can be done. But what advice do you guys have? Anyone in the same shoes? I am filing In Davis, CA which is about 20 minutes from Sacramento. The letter I got back form USCIS says Laguna Niguel.

Any advice would help. Thank you everyone!

You usually receive at least a month's notice for any potential I-751 interview, which should be long enough to make plans to return to the US to attend it.

Calling USCIS won't get you anywhere.

Actually I called and they gave me good advice on what to do! Which is to have a friend check my mail while I am gone, that way he can open any USCIS letters and tell me if my interview would fall within the period I am out of the country. If it does, I can call and reschedule. I had not thought of that. So in a way they did help.

You should have your appointment letter any time now I would think. if things follow the way they seem for everyone else your appointment should be done with way before your June 21st leave date. Best of luck.
