Hi all,

My fiancé lives in Texas and sent off our initial k1 package in Texas on the 27th of March.
Received our NOA1 on the 30th by text and 2 days later the official one in the mail.

I noticed that our receipt number starts with a "WAC" which I have read means California Service Centre??
As my fiancé is located in Texas, I thought ours would be processed in the TSC? Does anyone know whats happening?
Is it because theres a huge backlog in TX?

Don't get me wrong - I'm so happy if its in CSC! Means faster processing, but can anyone enlighten me with this situation?

Thanks! :)

You are lucky. Don't ask questions. Just smile :)

USCIS recently announced that they are transferring (and the appear to be re-routing new applications) between the service centers to balance the workload. There are a couple of threads on the Process and Procedures forum about this.

Thanks Ann! We keep checking the USCIS website for our case status update but it's telling us "

  • At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information."

Any insight on that? Do you get the same message back? I wonder if that means an RFE?

Hi Lileepad!

Same happened to a few members of the April filers thread.

Seems normal at this early stage.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The same thing happened to us. The day it was approved was the last time any real information was displayed. Now we get that same "no info can be provided right now" message. Our case was also rerouted to CSC.

This is a great forum! I just filed our petition last Friday, sent Express Mail. It sounds like I should really be hoping to have it assigned to CSC. My fiance is from Colombia and I am hoping for a quick approval. However, it appears that once the approval for the K-1 Visa is received, there is still the process of transferring the file to the Embassy in Colombia and then waiting for my fiance to get his interview, approval, etc. I know it depends on the Country, but it seems like this could add weeks to the final issuance of the Visa. What kind of experience does everyone have with that process?

Also, does it matter that I know that our filing package could not have been any more organized? Does this help make the approval process quicker?

Thanks for any input.

Yes, great odds that you will be routed to CSC. NVC and Embassy stage will add probably 2-3 months to the process depending how fast csc sends your approved petition to nvc, how fast your fiance fills out forms and how quickly the embassy schedules interviews.

No. Doesn't matter if your packet is organized.

at this point i almost just want to recall my application and re-apply...seems like it would be faster...

It's not that simple... it takes quite a while to get a petition cancelled from what I've read here. By the time you do that and (if) it goes to CSC, they may be the ones backed up...
