didnt pay 2 year green card yet (cr1-2)

hello...

me and my son arrived here in US last September 2014, we received an mail of the ssn and mail about the green card that we have to pay cause it says we arent exempted on it so we have to pay before they give the green card. My husband called the USCIS and said that green card is only needed when working,traveling or schooling...we wont travel anywhere,my son wont school cause he will be a homeschool and im not working...Since we have financial problem for a moment, its 6 months now that we havent have green card (is it really important to have green card right ahead?)...does it affect my immigration process here? i understand we're on conditional visa...its the thing that bothers me...in my passport it appears that we have 1 year temporary residence visa.

do we really have to pay the conditional visa card?

what about those medical record that we bring here US what are we going to do with it?

i hope somebody can answer my questions...it would be greatly appreciated...

you have up to 1 year to get the GC, you must pay, the stamp is only temporary proof until you get the card, the GC is for everything to prove that you are a resident,

plus you will need the GC to remove conditions 90 days before your GC expires.

Yes you have to pay for the cards. You will need these for when you remove conditions and apply for the 10 year greencard,
