Hi Guys

I applied (I 130 ) for my wife On Sept 16 /2014 and updated my Immigration Status from Green Card holder to U.S Citizen On 11/2014 , so after that they start working on my case , 5 days ago they updated my status online stating that they suspended my case until i respond for the RFE ( they requested Original language Marriage Certificate ) which i did today and probably they ll receive it on Friday 3/2015. So my question here are .

I know the Processing time to RFE is somehow unpredictable but Could you please give me at least what was your time frame if you had the same situation ?
are they going to send another RFE in case they need more Docs ? if Yes then Why did not they included it on the previous one ?

If im lucky enough (well if my wife is lucky enough which i dont thing so   ) get approved , should i start gathering the NVC Documents required ? or wait till i get the NOA2 mail Notice ?

Thanks for your help

It can take as little as a few weeks to months. Most seem to get a reply 1 to 3 months after replying to the RFE however.

Thank You

By the way how long it took the USCIS to ship your case to NVC ?

How long it took the NVC to assign a case number after they received the case .

if i was able to get the case number from NVC once without waiting till they send me the letter , will i be able to pay the fees ?

Thanks in advance

Congrats!

Thank you

We were at Nebraska and they were a little slow at sending off our approved petition to NVC, about ten days. From NOA2 until NVC assigned a case number and IIN was about three weeks but I think NVC was pretty fast at assigning a case number once they got our approved petition, it took less than two weeks.

Once you pay the AOS fee and file the DS-231 (choice of agent), it's anything from two to four weeks until you can pay the IV fee and then another two days roughly till you can fill out DS-230.
