No I came here in 2008.. Overstayed my entry but I still have a 10 year visa on my passport..I heard if I volunteer in churches and temples I can qualify but I am not sure if that's true..is there any other way out??

Call a us army recruiter tomorrow, ask if they still grant lpr status during enlistment. It was a big deal 3 years ago.

What's the status of the person you are married to? USC? LPR? Other?

What exactly is an army recruiter??

Someone who recruits (has you join) the army. Darnell is suggesting you join the army to find a legal route to staying in the USA, which I did not know what ever an option (makes some sense though... desperate measures etc.).

Hi,

The 10 years visa became invalid the moment you overstayed.

It's not true. THere is no way for you to get a green card or work visa by volunteering.

There are two ways out, 1) divorce your Indian spouse, marry a US citizen, and adjust status, or 2) go home.

Huh. Slight tangent, but I'm guessing this was the programme Darnell referred to (and still exists). MAVNI. Allows legal immigrants to fast-track to USC.

She's in India.. Not married to a USC or LPR..

Doesn't look like you have a route then. You should make plans to go back to India and re-enter the USA legally in the future, if that's where you want to be.

The 10 years tourist visa is not for you to stay inside US for 10 years.

It is void once you have overstayed.

Time to go home to your family

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

A person has to be a US citizen or LPR to enroll.

The US Army does not grant LPR status. It doesn't have the power.
