Which package? And what are you trying to pay? If you are talking about the DS-160, then yes, you need the NVC case number to pay.

Your timeline isn't filled, that makes it difficult to help.

It sounds like you're asking if you need your case number from the NVC to send off packet 3 to the embassy? You wait until they send it to you. You get your case number from the NVC to book your medical appt.

You pay online after packet 3 is sent in, I believe.

Step 3: Go download the original forms AND instructions from USCIS.

Step 4: Read the forms & instructions.

Step 5: Re-read everything AGAIN.

Step 6: Fill the forms.

Step 7: Collect the required documents.

Step 8: Fill a check for the filing fee to include with the package.

Step 9 - 100: Double, triple and quadruple check everything. Make copies.

FInal Step: Mail it off.

Yeah, it sounds like you are mixing up the process between what happens at USCIS and what happens at the embassy (Department of State). If your US fiance is mailing documents, then it sounds like that is in USCIS (first) stage. You, the beneficiary, don't need to do any here. Then at the embassy, you send in a package and stuff...

1. Are you asking about the filing of the I-129 petition OR

2. Are you asking about your K1 application for the embassy stage ?

Name the package and fill out your timeline please. There are several packages and fees during this process and we have no idea what "package

and fees" you are talking about.

filling is not filing.

case number? Receipt number? Cannot have consular casefile number without approved i-129f, and a uscis receipt number is issued prior.

Is 2 fees. One at uscis. Another with the iv unit.

The fiance(e) or K1 visa is actually a two step process.

First, the US Citizen submits the I-129F petition to USCIS,

and when this is approved, it will go to NVC (National Visa Center)

and eventually end up in US embassy/consulate of your country.

Second, once the case moves to your consulate, they will contact you

and you (as a foreign beneficiary) continue the K1 visa processing

with your local consulate office.

For the first part, you don't first get a case number,

but rather you submit the I-129F package with the fee.

And once its approved USCIS/NVC will assign the case number.

Hello, seems we are on the same visa journey. We recently received our case number from the NVC, and most recently our petition was sent to the embassy in Algiers. I looked to see your timeline, but you don't have a timeline set up so I really cannot give advice. To pay the visa fee your fiance will have to have that with him at the embassy $265 either in US dollars or the equivalent of Algerian dinars.
