Will I get a checklist? (split topic)

NLR, do you think from your experience I'll get checklisted for the same if I put employed, but $0 for current income, as it will not continue in the US? I explained that in the cover letter and also sent enough assets to meet the guidelines.

(Don't mean to hijack but this thread worries me about my own case)

My wife (UsC) is living and working in EU. She filled "employed". For current income she filled 0$ and explained that in cover letter.

In Saylin's NVC wiki (I think) we have read that it is good idea to send in a foreign employment letter also.

We received CC without checklist.

I got checklisted for that. I guess it might be okay if you've already explained it in your cover letter, as they only asked me to write a letter explaining that my employment was overseas. But for people who are still filling out the form, imo it's safer to not list it at all.

Thanks for the replies. Just to confirm, Frips, you didn't include a foreign employment letter and were okay? If the consensus is that an explanation in the cover letter seems to be enough I'll breathe easy as I included that.

Ooops...she did include foreign employment letter and explained everything in cover letter.

In either case, include an employment letter with all the details and if your job will NOT continue, make sure it is stated as such in the letter. It'd also be a good idea to mention this in the cover letter.

I read through that guide countless times when I was preparing our packages, but I swear no matter how many times you read the guide at least something seems to escape you. Thanks for the input. I still have some hope for no checklist if shiroiuso was only required to send a written explanation and not an official employment letter.

I think you're good just with an explanation letter. In the end it all depends on a reviewer.

For most people just putting down in the cover letter that the work will not be continuing is enough, but some people get checklisted for it and need to include something else. A letter from your employer stating the job will not continue should work I would think.
