I received an email today from the Embassy of Casablanca in Morocco that due to some technical difficulties they had overlooked but have found our USCIS package. They said they will be reviewing it and doing the final steps over the next few days and will contact myself or my husband. Will there be another interview when they give him the visa and if so what questions should he expect? Thank you for the support as always and good luck to all and God bless.

Waiver mailed January 17th

Waiver received January 18th

Waiver received from Phoenix to Nebraska Center January 27th

Waiver approved February 17th!!!!!!

this is for a 601 waiver no lawyer assistance and the reason for the expedite is because I need two surgeries one is pre cancer related in addition to I am also bipolar with PSTD and panic disorder and severe depression.

Not normally.

Next step would be AP.

This is what I got. So you don't think he will need another interview especially since it's been so recent?

Thank you for your inquiry. After overcoming some technical difficulties, we were able to open the packet from USCIS and confirm that the waiver has been approved. We still a few more days to complete processing, and will let you or your applicant know as soon as we have completed the last steps.

If they do not have his passport then they will ask for it. Nothing to interview about usually.

Not usually but every consulate is different. If your medical is older than 6 months, they will probably ask for a new one. When our waiver was approved, my husband only had to drop off the items they asked for in the instruction letter.. they can ask for whatever they want.

may I ask you what they asked you for in the instruction letter? and all of my medical has kind of been on going I've been working on my way forever since the I 130 was approved so I kind of included things as I've gone. As far as the first surgery that I need to have that was dated back from July and August but I have had to put it off because of this visa process. but since that time my gynecologist developed a brain tumor and had surgery and will no longer be doing surgeries or delivering babies. since then I have seen different doctors and gynaecologist & I have been forwarded to reconstructive surgeons and I'm almost positive I included all of that in the waiver and these items were dated pretty much within the last 6 months the last two months probably. The second surgery I will be needing was done mostly from December and January. I have been keeping up with what's been going on in posting it and emailing it to the embassy and keeping in touch with them the progress of my health during the situation. I'm hoping that's enough but it wouldn't be a problem to get anything else I just don't want to delay the surgery anymore because honestly I feel like I'm going to die.thank you so much for the reply it really helps my husband is really concerned that he is afraid they are going to interview him again and he had a motorcycle accident a few years ago so his memory isn't that great he didn't tell that to the consulate when he did his first interview we didn't think it was necessary but I'm wondering if he has another interview if he should bring it up or not. he is just really nervous. he just knows how hard I worked on the waiver and I've tried to coach him and help him out as much as possible especially since when I first met him his English wasn't so good and we've had to work on that because he wanted to do his interview in English that was so important to him. thank you guys again for all the support and all of the answers because of this website mostly this website I was able to get all the information I needed to be successful without having to spend the thousands and thousands of dollars on a lawyer would have cost.

It's the medical exam for your husband..it has nothing to do with you. Medical, xray and blood work.

The instruction letter asked for an updated medical, a new affidavit of support from me, tax returns and recent photos Of our relationship. And his passport. But it depends on your consulate. We didn't have another interview but that doesn't mean you won't. If you happen to get another interview, let them lead. Answer the questions and relax. You already have the waiver approval. Most likelythey will just collect whatever they ask for in the instruction letter. We got our instruction letter in email. I called the embassy several times. They were awesome. Much better than dealing with the USCIS.

so it sounds like they should be asking for stuff he already has unless they are looking for with the updated AOS the only thing I could think of would be a new updated letter for my boss as well as the 2014 W 2's?

They don't care about a letter from your boss. They could possibly ask for 2015 w2s. If. The medical exam is older than 6 months...they will probably need all that updated. But again, every consulate is different. Just wait for the letter

Every consulate does things different. The consulate in Costa Rica sent an email. If yours was approved in February, it seems they are very slow. If I were you, I would call them. Also, the consulate has the final word. Just because your waiver is approved doesn't mean they will give you the visa. Until you have the visa in your hand, just be aware. After you turn in the documents they request in the instruction letter, it's normal for your ceac status to go from READY to AP to ISSUED. AP could be a while depending on the consulate. It doesn't matter if you were expedited. The expedite is for the USCIS. The consulate is part of the dept of state.

For my waiver to be approved in 3 weeks is not slow. When I had my I 130 go through and I contacted the embassy and explained my situation they agreed to expedite my case once the NVC was done with their part. why do you think they won't approve the visa even though we have the waiver because both of the consular officers who interviewed my husband sold him to apply for the waiver. When I called and spoke to the embassy on Monday they said as long as both of the officers who interviewed him told him to apply for the waiver and they get an email saying the waiver is approved then he should be fine.

I meant your embassy is being slow. We had our instruction letter in a week. Ours happened right at the holidays. The whole process after the waiver was approved would have only been 2 weeks if Costa Rica didn't shut down the last 2 weeks of December. My husband entered the US exactly a month after the waiver approval. I'm just letting you know, the consulate can still refuse the visa. Its only a sure thing when you have the visa in your hands.
