Ok so my husband decided to go though an attorney to do the I-130 stuff (personally i hated her, and her attitude) and she said she was gonna mail the stuff off the next day which would be feb 11, to this day we have not received a receipt number or a NOA1 in the mail and it has been 2 weeks and 1 day today, anyone's case took that long? I've seen on here where most people's cases took like 5 days to receive the NOA1

Did you contact the lawyer to check if in fact she mailed the stuff? I received my NOA1 fews days after mailing.

Sis hate is a harsh word, however I can understand U being turned off

by an attitude, maybe U should just let hubby deals with her...Every case

different although seem the same,I don't think its yet a long wait but have

your husband try to get the receipt info from her......hope U get an answer soon

I know, but she just makes me very frustrated, she is the most unprofessional woman i have ever met, I honestly don't know why my husband didn't mail it himself

If there's any way you can not use a lawyer, I recommend it. The complete process can be done without one! There are a lot of places, like here, to go for questions! If you have a feeling you shouldn't trust her, then don't! If she mailed it when she said she did, you should have gotten your NOA1 already!

honestly, it was not my choice to use a lawyer, it was my husband's choice, I told him we could do it on our own but he said he wanted to be on the safe side to avoid delays, and you know how stubborn men can be, and the delay he wanted to avoid, is what we are facing right now.

Aw darn ... maybe even with the delay, it will end up being better in the long run. Lawyers who have done this before can catch mistakes that a newbie may not...which saves you time in the long run :) You are in Jamaica and your husband is in the states? If I wasn't the one putting it together, I'd make my husband get a lawyer, lol....

Oh, I know! It's stressful, too! My husband is in Jamaica and it's hard to be the only one that can come visit! (And of course I'm on the north west corner of the states...couldn't get much further!!) I moved from my hometown to start a new job where he will be working once he's here, and of course I couldn't take any vacation yet with a new job, so we got married in July, I left in August and haven't seen him since! I'll make it back in April...by then it will be 8 months since we've seen each other. Keep your head up! The process takes awhile, but in the end, it's all worth it, and after a while, you'll look back and time will have flown by :)

wow! i'm close behind, i last saw my husband in december, and won't get to see him until july or august. the only comfort i have is the giant teddy he mailed me with his cologne on it, so i can hug it and smell him

why does he need to make an appointment to ask if the package was sent? The lawyer can answer this over the phone.
