Ok I have been looking for days on some flights. All flights lead to George Bush Intercontinental, but I have heard some not so nice reviews about that place. Does anyone have any info on this place other than the one review here on the site? What shall a girl do? I want this to be a low to no hassle experience for my hubby......Anyone speak?

My husband went through IAH about two months ago. He said there was no harassment however it took three hours for him and others to clear immigration.

Can't comment on how they will treat your hubby when he moves with his visa because we haven't gotten that far yet, but my fiancé has been through IAH 14 times in our relationship. It's always been very easy. They usually crack a couple jokes about how many times he's been here and how he must really love me! He's never been given a hard time, at all.

Three hours is definitely not normal. 30-45 mins is more typical in our experiences.

True. In my dozen times passing through and my fiancé's 14 times, neither of us have ever experienced a wait of more than an hour. Three hours would seem like there were extenuating circumstances or some issues happening, though.

No extenuating circumstance nor any other issues. Just the wrong day and time I guess.

Don't worry your husband will be fine regardless of POE. Just try not to over think it though I know it can be hard not to.

I don't mean extenuating circumstances or issues with your husband. I mean with the airport. As in flights delayed so that there were a lot of flights coming in at one time. That sort of thing.

I have use that airport a couple of time. It Is a relatively small airport compare to the city it is in. Houston I believe it 4th or 5th largest city in USA. Also considering it one of the main hub for lots of international flights,that airport should be a lot bigger

I have used IAH a couple of times myself. The first few times with my tourist visa and then my K-1.

With my B1 it took about 30 mins processing at the booth, including waiting in the line and going through customs.

When I used my K1 visa, it was a different story. Had to wait in line to get to the booths, then we were taken into the DHS waiting rooms where we sat waiting for more than 3 hrs. Some people had been waiting longer, and had missed their connecting flights. There was no harassment whatsoever, it just takes a freaking long time.

Thank you everyone.....and you too Tiff&Babs for the reviews. I looked at IAH or George Bush.....and there was only one review never though to look under Houston.

My family flies in and out of IAH (George Bush) all the time,

what sort of "not so nice stories" did you read?

When my fiancee (at the time) had POE at George Bush,

they misplaced her passport, so she was stuck in the immigration office for 4 hours

but they didn't mistreat her and we accepted it as a mistake

as most other folks spent less than 1 hour there.

what sort of "not so nice stories" did you read? Just that there are a lot of unnecessary questions asked, that people are put on a plane and sent back.

When my fiancee (at the time) had POE at George Bush,

they misplaced her passport, so she was stuck in the immigration office for 4 hours

but they didn't mistreat her and we accepted it as a mistake

as most other folks spent less than 1 hour there.

My wife spent literally 5 minutes for POE processing...

the bulk of 4 hours were result of them misplacing the passport

and trying to find it.

Also most Chinese that were on the same airplane that were going

through the POE were also pretty quick according to her.

So their harassment (?) level may depend more on which country they are coming from.
