Hi Guys,

I am 5 days close to my interview and wanted to know if....once we reach the US is it necessary to wait for the GC and SSN because some of the beneficiaries might need to go back to the origin country to finish some paperwork, and might only stay for 2 - 3 days. I wanted to know if he wont have any problem to come back with the seal on his passport? I found this, but CAN someone can tell me if it is correct?

Thanks!

Their visas upon entry will become a temporary I-551 stamp good for 1 year. The I-551 is a green card.

They can leave as soon as they receive the I-551 stamp.

Be mindful that they have to maintain their LPR status, so they shouldn't be gone for too long.

Maintain their status.

Once the GC and SSN arrive at the address, do we have to sign any document or do something else? or just start using it as your new ID?
