K1 visa interview question

Hi to all. We have just sent the I-129 form last week and yesterday we got the Acceptance confirmation. It is just starting and I'm already nervous!!! I dont want to image how the whole process with be. I know i have no reason to feel nervous about getting the visa denied bc we have a real relationship and we know each other very well, but its that i have read so many cases of real relationships who have get the visa denied for so many reasons that i think, that could happen to me too. Im already anxious. gosh... :dead:

My question is, about the interview, do u highly recommend that my fiance comes with me to the interview (whenever it will be) or it is not a must? Bc my fiance is likely not to be able to come by that time.

Have any of you (i guess the answer is yes) gone to the interview alone? is the interviewer too tough?

I would really appreciate it if some of you that have already passed the interview alone would tell me your experiences.

Thanks in advance.

*** Thread moved from K-1 Process forum to the Embassy/Consulate forum -- topic involves the visa interview. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I know i have no reason to feel nervous about getting the visa denied

Then don't be.

bc we have a real relationship and we know each other very well,

Then you have to prove that to a total stranger, the Embassy CO.

but its that i have read so many cases of real relationships who have get the visa denied for so many reasons

I don't read the same. Most denials are for very good reasons, not eligible for the K-1 (got married beforehand for example), or didn't have good evidences or were from hard Embassies with high number of fraud cases.

My question is, about the interview, do u highly recommend that my fiance comes with me to the interview (whenever it will be) or it is not a must? Bc my fiance is likely not to be able to come by that time.

Not required. Some Embassies don't allow the petitioner to attend. Some do.

Have any of you (i guess the answer is yes) gone to the interview alone? is the interviewer too tough?

Depends on your evidences or the particular Embassy.

I would really appreciate it if some of you that have already passed the interview alone would tell me your experiences.

You can read up on my wife's experience at the Moscow Embassy back in November, 2009 over on the RUB regional forum. The short story is that she was given a 221g form asking for more evidence. I compiled and sent that and within two days we were approved.

I do believe what did it for us was the Evolution of Our Relationship document that I created to assist the reviewer in examining the evidence sent. It became obvious to me, as I was assembling the evidence, that our relationship, just as the majority, probably yours also, followed a normal path, from getting to know you stage, to likes/dislikes, to planning the meeting in person, to lovey dovey stuff (I'm a firm believe that this should be included. Not a lot but most couples who get married say lovey dovey stuff to each other and should be proud to display that, G-rated only!), to visa stuff, to planning the move, to planning for day care, planning for life in the US. I believe this document, 2-1/2 pages long is what did the trick for us.

btw,

After the interview they did not approve of the visa and wanted additional evidence. As I gathered this together the idea of the letter came to me. It was sent to the Embassy following the interview. It wouldn't really be needed until the interview but could also be included in the 129 petition to "front load" the package. USCIS wouldn't use it but it would get sent to the Embassy .

Some couples have a marriage ceremony in the beneficiairy's country before using the K-1. In some cultures this is traditional and it is not considered formally being married. Some couples think they can outsmart themselves and screw up and have a ceremony only to find out they really did get married an then their K-1 is denied because the K-1 is for un-marrried couples.

Oh ok. Thanks for the explanation. Well, we have already sent the I-129F form, so, theres no chance to write this letter, but it would had been very helpful to do it.
