HELLO PEOPLE,

I Hope everyone is still on track mentally.I know this whole process takes its toll.

I have a question.I received an email from NVC yesterday which goes as follows :

"Dear Sir/Madam,

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview."

May be,if im not mistaken, this means my Case is complete at the NVC ? But i want to be sure. Did anyone receive this kind of email before a confirmation email of Case Complete from NVC ? What should be my next step? Your replies would be really appreciated.

I hope all of you have a smooth sail in this process.God bless.

Thank you.

yes, it is complete case. Congratulations! Do you mind telling me what your scanned date is? Your next step will be that you will receive an interview appointment letter via email. You will read instructions on the letter and follow NVC guidelines and DOS information (including make an appointment with only US-approved doctor that is on list on DOS and make an appointment with US visa center in India for fingerprint). Please let me know when your interview date will be after you receive an interview appointment letter.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thanks. What do u mean by scanned date ? Is it the date when NVC receives my package ? Do i need to take the interview appointment letter for the medical examination or can i book my medical and get it done without the interview letter ? Will definetly keep you posted on my interview date. Thanks once again. :)

Yes, scanned date is the date NVC received your AOS and your spouse's civil documents before your case was completed. What was your latest scanned date?

I think you have to take the interview appointment letter for the medical examination. It is in the instructions. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/interview/prepare/medical-examination.html, You will see dropdownlist of medical pdf on the website and you can download pdf of your US embassy/consulate in India. On the pdf of your embassy/consulate, you can see the list of things that you should bring to one of US-approved doctors. It said to bring the original appointment letter. You will receive the interview letter from NVC with similar instructions I am not sure if they don't let you book it and get it done without the interview letter.

If you would like to prepare for the interview, you can read this on this site:

travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/interview.html

and press "next" to learn what you need to know.

Hope this helps.
