Service Center Transfers

Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask if anyone has learned or heard of the chances of a petition being forwarded from the Texas to the California service centers?

It seems that California is much more efficient than Texas, and was wondering if someone's chances were greater to be transferred seeing how there is only one mailing address on the Form 129-F?

Thanks to all in advance,

Amhara

No, unfortunately there is no way to be transferred between service centers unless USCIS decides to do so. The lockbox address sorts petitions to TSC or CSC based on your state of residence. Even filing an expedite will not transfer your application, you must have filed the I-129F with a California resident address. The last transfer from TSC to CSC was for May and April petitioners but nothing since.

Our case processed at TSC and approved so fast than what we expected. So it doesn't matter where it goes.

So just follow all what they required to avoid delays and include all the supporting documents to prove your relationship so you will be fine.

That's what we did.

Goodluck!

You (or your Fiancé(e)) are a Filipino resident so your case got expedited and it is for that it went fast in your case.

Also we cannot relate your comment to a regular case ;)

Why are those being expedited over others?

Agreeing with the above posters. It's difficult attempting to fit in Philippines petitions timelines into your own - ESPECIALLY with TSC. No matter the service center they are expedited due to, as April mentioned, the 2013 typhoon. Their petitions are usually fast tracked from NOA1 through to POE. NOA1->NOA2 is 30 days or less, usually less. Just bear this in mind if asking for updated information on timelines and service center data. No offense meant to those from the Philippines, it was a horrible tragedy, but the reality remains that their petitions will in no way reflect the "norm".

The normal processing time for TSC is sitting somewhere between 6-8 months at the moment. Sorry :( I know how you feel being stuck in the blackhole that is TSC, my fiance and I just cut ties with USCIS when our NOA2 came, a few days shy of 7 months waiting. Hang in there!

I have a question. My husband and I filed our I-130 for the CR-1. My husband lives in California and, our case went to the Nebraska CSC :S Why wouldn't it go to the California CSC? We sent it to the lockbox it showed for California, which was, couriered to Phoenix, AZ. So, why would they send it to Nebraska?

You are filing for a completely different type of visa. Not every visa follows the same service center guidelines - each service center processes different application. You might be better checking the IR/CR-1 boards for which service centers handle which state, this post was for K-1.
