Welcome to another monthly thread for those going through NVC. Good luck to all! Please read everything below, whether this is your first month or third :idea:

This thread is strictly for questions and progress. If you want to rant about this ridiculous process, please do so in this side thread here.

NVC will be closed on the following day due to federal holidays: Monday, February 16th. They are open every other business day (Monday-Friday) this month.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before posting questions, please read the wiki I wrote on the NVC process here. Once you're done, read it one or two more times to really understand it ;) Don't forget to also read the official form instructions as well as USCIS and NVC's websites!
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE: Please read the update I posted here in regards to no longer sending original civil documents to NVC!!
For up to date time frames, you can view my spreadsheet here.
If you want to see a visual of the NVC process, please view my flowchart here. Freshly updated to the new process!
I will be much less active in answering posts in these monthly threads, so don't bother asking me questions directly and please don't send me PMs with questions. If you send me a PM with a question that can be posted here, I will NOT reply. Just post them here for everyone to see and someone will come along to answer. Remember to be patient (re: just post once and wait) ;)
And if for whatever reason, you can't find the answer, try searching both on this website and on Google. It's amazing what you can find if you search ;)
If you're wondering about time frames, I've got a spreadsheet available for a reason ;) And if that doesn't help, look at the fellow members right here in this thread! Study their signatures/timelines and make notes. VJ also has this awesome page. Use it! I sure did during my process :)
And once you've got a case complete, please join Dwheels's case complete/interview thread (currently March), here.
Also, please read Kanuk's post full of advice and observations, found here.
New spreadsheet update!! In January, I inactivated my old request form (if you're still on the old layout, just PM me any updates). There is now only one request form active for people to be added/updated to. The current spreadsheet is more extensive than the old layout was and requires you to be up to date on things and to call NVC for specific dates. If you're not willing to do this, then don't even bother asking to be on my spreadsheet. I also issue my own version of checklists if you submit dates that don't match your timeline or if something else is wrong. Like if it shows Armenia as your consulate and/or your timeline isn't completely up to date, you'll get checklists too. So please, verify your timeline is correct before submitting a request.
New request form (to add or update) here
New request form response sheet (to see if you received any error notes from me or if I simply haven't gotten to you yet) here
Well i guess it's time for me to post.
Long time member and second time going down the visa journey.
I'll update my timeline later when i get time.
My wife and step son are Chinese.
We started the process back on 08-01-2014
Got through USCIS in 32 days.
been at NVC for little over a 5 months.
Paid all the fees and jumped through all the hoops that NVC likes us to do.
Waited the 60 days (Scan date 11/28/2014) and on the 61st day the CEAC site shows 3 N/A.
Case complete and NO check list.
I'm not even going to bother calling NVC for i know how it works by now.
I'll just wait until this time next week when NVC sends me the email.
Good luck all, I'll be headed off to Guangzhou soon.
Hi Everyone,
Our AOS and IV packets should have made it to the NVC on Friday 30th January. I have an official request in asking for an expedite due to a job transfer being available to the US within my company, with a potential start date of Monday 6th April. From what i have read this is unlikely to be a good enough reason, but we are hoping. Does anyone know how long it generally takes for an expedite decision from the London consulate?
If our expedite is not approved, it looks like my visa won't be approved until some point in May-July. This would mean I would miss the internal transfer :( Is there anything else I can do to help push it through the system?
