Booking the flight to US?

Hi,

This question might be silly but I really have no idea.

The tickets from Sweden to US is really expensive if you just go with a one way ticket,

It is much cheaper with a round trip.

Will there be problem on the port of entry in US if you have a round trip ticket?

I'd just explain to them why, if they do ask. Its common sense to buy the return if its cheaper, then later cancel the return, I'm sure they will understand.

As a Swede you can enter on ESTA, so little reason you'd jump through all the K1 hoops if it wasn't your intention to stay.

No this is not an issue. You can cancel the return portion when you arrive.

Some people have reported that airlines claim you have used the return portion of the ticket even when you haven't which is then considered as you leaving the US and abandoning your adjustment of status.

With this in mind, it is advised on VJ that you cancel the return portion having arrived. A fairly good reason to go out of your way in my opinion.

Nope, I must be lying to deliberately inconvenience someone I have never met.

Yes, really. Surely if there is even a small chance of this happening it is worth warning someone that this might be the case. Better to be safe than sorry. Cancelling a ticket is far less inconvenient than dealing with the repercussions of a presumed abandonment of someones adjustment of status.

Why don't you book the return flight for way in the future? That way, you can use the return flight to go home for a visit.

Is that possilbe to do? If so I would def do that But I guess I will be in the same situation once I visited Sweden to go back to USA, but it might be cheaper if I book earlier that time tho.

You need advance parole or green card to visit sweden since K1 visa is only a one entry visa. If you visit to sweden on your return ticket while not having green card or advance parole, when you come back to the US you are no longer on K1 status, you forfeited that status leaving the country without proper authorization to return, but you then need to enter as tourist, which will cause major problems for your status in the US and your AoS application.
