Make copies, better yet, scanned them into a .pdf file and keep it in safe place.

Also, save all letters that you receive (NOA1, NOA2, NVC, etc.)

as some of them will come handy later.

Finally...double and triple check every little detail.

Some glitch can cause weeks if not months of delay.

Include copy of beneficiary birth certificate, and beneficiary passport.

The photos that you included if they are not date stamped, put the date on the back, and say where the photo was taken, and who is in the photo.

Copy of receipt for the engagement ring is also good. Even if it's handwritten by the store, shows time and place the ring was purchased, you can black out the price.

For the passport photos make sure you write each of your names on your respective photos on the back, with passport details for each of you. Or if you are a naturalized citizen (I am) you can put the A number you once had. (Sorry this probably doesn't apply to you but I mention it just in case)

Exactly how you have listed it out here, make a cover letter with this list, and make sure the files are organized in this order, it helps the adjudicator look through your file and find everything quicker.

You can get as creative as you like, for example we flagged the emails where we discussed marriage and wedding plans to bring their attention to it.

Remember they want to see two things : 1) real relationships 2) your plans to get married.

Sorry if I am giving you extra headache but we frontloaded and did not have RFE, so just going off personal experience.

Beneficiary birth certificate and passport are not needed for the initial I-129F filing.

In the organization of your I-129F petition, put all the required documents first: the I-129F form, G-325A forms with passport pictures, letters of intent, proof of meeting, etc. At the end of your petition, keep separate your proof of relationship. In this section include your chat logs, screenshots, photos, etc. that will support your proof of relationship. An example:

  • Cover letter
  • Payment
  • G-1145
  • I-129F (and your supplemental letter of meeting)
  • G-325A with passport photo for petitioner
  • G-325A with passport photo for beneficiary
  • Copy of all pages of petitioner's passport
  • Letter of intent to marry from petitioner
  • Letter of intent to marry from beneficiary
  • Proof of meeting in person (include the passport stamps, any boarding passes, photos of you together, tickets, receipts, etc.)
  • Proof of relationship (include any correspondence between the two of you, including chat logs, emails, cards, letters, more pictures, etc.)
