Hello Everyone,

I have a question about the accuracy of the TSC process times for the K-1 Visa after the NOA1.

One day it is posted they are processing August 11 th and then the next day it is posted they are processing July 7 th.

And it has gone back and forth several times with multiple dates.

Anyone have an explanation? I don't see any way to accurately anticipate the time so I guess we must just wait and see.

Any insight on what is going on?

Thanks,

Mickey and Zina

It is sadly bouncing around due to a lot of people not entering their Service Center correctly. The current date, July 5th, seemsa reasonable approximation of what is going on.

Time to NOA-2 is around 200 days. plus/minus 15 these days...

TSC is far behind the other two centers. Does anyone have an idea why? 200 days is ridiculous, I am sure we are not the only ones noticing this.

There's a big problem with that because of people not completing their timelines correctly. A lot of people seem to think all petitions go to TSC then get transferred to CSC because of their state but that's not the case. They go to CSC direct but those people incorrectly mark transferred which throws off the processing times. I find looking at Igors list to be most accurate. There you can see who is getting NOA2 and can individually look at their timeline and which state they are in to make sure they've not made the mistake that I mentioned above. They see. To be getting through early to mid July about now, unless the beneficiary is from the Philippines which are currently being expedited.

I am not sure we are referring to the same thing. I am looking at the gov. website for the TSC center, posted as "CURRENT PROCESSING TIMES" , "Petitions with NOA1 Dates".

Ah, sorry. Are you referring to the USCIS processing times posted for Texas? As they haven't updated that information since November.

The processing times for petitions with NOA1 dates, that data is taken from VJ members that fill in their timelines etc. So if people don't complete their info and timelines correctly that date is bound to jump around. I look at that date every time I am on VJ and it's always jumping back and forth.

But you might be looking somewhere I am not. If you could attach a link that would be good :)

This is the link I am referring too. http://www.visajourney.com/content/times If this represents the timelines on VJ, your explanation make perfect sense.

This is the other link I have been viewing for time estimations. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do;jsessionid=abcUIC6Fq6HTfbag-t2Su

Where is the best place to get this info on wait times?

My other question is, why is TSC so far behind the other centers? Is there volume of applicants that much more than the others?

They are inefficient and I-129F have lower priority than say I-485. They have a lot of active petitions, and sadly, we just get left by the wayside.

Yes, that's what I was referring to. It's based off VJ member data so naturally it is unpredictable. The other links are the official releases but they haven't updated that since November 30th, as of then the last case they processed were those dated June 6th. But based on VJ members getting NOA2's they seem to be in mid July-ish.

Like Tabeak said they are giving priority to I-485's, I read that somewhere too but I think TSC gets the majority of petitions so they are just getting backlogged constantly. Although, they are at least approving I-129f petitions regularly at the moment. At least a handful a day I've noticed.

My other question is, why is TSC so far behind the other centers? Is there volume of applicants that much more than the others?

Please see my post on the September TSC thread in the K1 progress subforum for a more detailed answer to your question.

As for the dates moving around, others have answered correctly. The biggest contributor seems to be incorrect entries from petitioners whose packet was sent to the CSC, but who listed TSC as their service center, thinking that the TSC and the lockbox are one and the same or simply not being aware of the distinction. Then later on they realize their mistake and correct their timelines to show the correct service center. Then of course the VJ data "self corrects" if you will.

Hope this helps.

So when should we request and do an email inquiry for over the time? If it's been over 5 months can we go ahead and email them?

I've read on some other posts that 6 months is when you can start emailing etc. Others have contacted USCIS and been told they are within normal processing times even after that...I imagine the choice for that depends on the individual :)
