I am not impatient and usually don't worry. I was fine with knowing I would wait at least another 5 months to hear something. But I woke this morning to an email saying our file was being transferred. It did not say where, I assume that will be on the paper notice which I will eventually get.

I searched for topics on case transfers and it seems there hasn't been much of it lately that I can see. I know no one can no why it was transferred but I am hoping someone might know if transfers can mean something negative? I know I will get a letter and then I can probably call to find out. I guess I just want to brace myself for bad news! I would rather hear it from someone here than on the phone with customer service.

Thanks for any replies!

Yes happens all the time. Hopefully you will be transferred to a service center that can now process you. You don't have your service center currently on your profile so don't know where you are now.

Which service center are you at now?

I am currently at the Texas Service Center. I see it when I look at my timeline. Am I supposed to enter it elsewhere so others can see? Sorry about that... :( I will check it out.

Thanks for your reply!

To your left you profile there's nothing. Not your timeline your profile you have to update. Putting yup your country flag all that fun. You go to your profile and enter all that makes everything so easy and your questions drop in your countries portal when you specifics questions about your embassy and all that jazz and your country people can find you and well it helps generally with answering questions also.

But you should thank God you are being sent out of slow poke TSC. Hopefully being sent to CSC or maybe Vermont even. Keep us posted.

Well, I got a little impatient waiting for the paper notice telling me where the case was transferred. So I called the automated line to see what I could learn.

It says the case was transferred to Mesquite, Texas for further processing. We are already at the Texas Service Center so could the transfer notice just be a mistake? Could it just mean that it is now being reviewed (although I think it is a bit early for that)?

If anyone knows what it might mean, I would love the input!

I got my paper notice today. It states the case was transferred "in order to speed up processing". But it says it went to the National Benefits Center. When I checked their processing times, it doesn't list the I-130 as being something they process. But .... whatever! I guess it's there now. We will see what happens. :)
