Hi everyone. I got my employment authorization 25th sept 2014. How long is the waiting time to get the green card in the mail? There has been no update on the USCIS website and is like I have been waiting for ages even though is just 4 months now but the good jobs I applied for they kept demanding for permanent residency. Can someone let me know. By the way I arrived on a K1 in April.

We applied for AOS in April 2014... Still waiting. We are now outside processing times for our local office (Milwaukee WI) I called and they are sending a request to Milwaukee to find out what is going on. . I hope to at least hear something soon. . It's been 9 months for us. My hubbie and stepson had their medicals in December 2013. Does anyone know if we now need to redo that since it's been more than a year?

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

Hello,

i have my Ead recently, one week before my interview, and now they mail me my green card.

And it is true i have apply for one job and she tell me i need the green card, i told her i give my EAD and she can't put me in this position since i don't have my greend card, so some opportunity can go so fast.

so when i read your post i realise it is normal , it is not only me.

Have a good day. I don't see nothing than patience.

That is odd, I don't see how they can discriminate against EAD holders. I know some jobs may require US citizenship but I've never heard of a Green Card being required. However some people don't know what an EAD means, so maybe that's why...

Sounds like that company was breaking federal employment law. Authorised to work means authorised to work, period. Companies cannot discriminate, and cannot direct which documents they will accept as proof of employment authorisation (provided they are from this list: http://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/acceptable-documents).

The only except is that some jobs (usually with local, state, or the federal government) can require the applicant to be a US citizen.

An EAD is a lawful document issued by the United States government. Denying you a job position because you don't have greencard could possibly be considered discrimination and is a sue-able offense.
