My husbands interview has not been scheduled yet. He still has his tourist visa, can he travel to the U.S. on vacation?

He plans to return to Chile, but we are wondering if he can enter the U.S. for couple of weeks on vacation. He would return to Chile.

Does anyone know if this would affect his immigration status?

It will not affect his immigration status, but he should bring lots of proof that he will return to Chile. The immigration officer at the POE will make the final decision, so it is important to convince him/her that your husband will return to his home country.

I applied for a visa for my husband at the Rome Embassy. They told me that he could NOT travel to the US while he had an application pending or it would cancel out his application. We were disappointed to hear this because I had planned to travel back the US while he had a pending application but were unsure if we wanted to be separated without him being allowed to enter the US.
