AP - is it a good sign to be given a second interview date or told we will call you

I was trying to get peoples opinions on something......preferably if they have experience or first hand knowledge of this question;

- Is it better one way or the other to be told to come back for a second interview and given a date right away when Admin Processing box is checked on 221-g, or is it a better sign when they tell you "we will call you"?

- When they give the date to return, I am wondering why it is so close to the expiration date of the NOA2? Is that most likely so that there is no way you can appeal or ask for it to be extended with such short notice?

- I know it's always a better sign if they keep your passport, but not necessarily a bad thing if they give it back.

Yes, I have read yours.....congratulations! I know that they were specifically looking for your affidavit of support correct? With my fiancées interview, they just checked "administrative processing" and was given a date to return. The reason stated was that she needed more time to work on our case. So I was wondering if there is a difference in the likelihood of approval based on a return date noted on the 221-g form, or simply "Will Call"... or maybe there is no difference at all. But it seems like the ones with a date just need to be looked at longer, and the ones with a "will Call" maybe have a specific issue they are looking at and have no idea how long it may take to ascertain.

In Ghana a return date is better than none. We were also put in AP with a return date and were approved (this was in 2008).

From what I have seen, in Ghana those with the return date almost always get approved. Right now its just a waiting game.

Good luck!!!

Oh, I reread it more closely. You were told to come back and then called a week later and told about the affidavit of support. I am guilty of not reading closely. That is a good sign for us I hope. It seems they really want time to go through all evidence to look for anything they can find. While you were waiting, did you ever check CEAC status? Did it say adminstrative processing, or still ready? Mine still says ready, so maybe when she goes back they will interview all over again, who knows......I am going to go with her this time, to show my love and support. Congratulations on your approval and I hope you can get to the US soon.
