No. It was back in 2010. I applied to visit my then-boyfriend (my now husband) and got refused. The CO then write down "file for I-129F" one of reasons for the refusal. Though I brought a bunch of papers the CO did not even look at these.

yes. My I got approved 2012. I was single and 27 at that time.. I even was a freelance designer. It was pretty surprising to be approved since the approval rate for women in my situation and country is low.

My reason for visit was to see my sister since it was going to be her graduation and I was gonna be the rep for my parents.

Sorry to hear that. My sister in-law is scrambling to get employment verification documents, enrollment documents, permission from her child's father, etc and its troubling to know that the decisions are made within seconds without taking everything into consideration.

Probably that was a valid reason. Many B-2 visas applicants get approved and when they came to the US and got married then apply adjust of status afterwards. I was an editor at one of reputable news outlet companies in my country. In fact, the US embassy had always invited me for their events and my email was on their lists. But again, my job history and all docs I had came to the zero because I was going to visit my then-boyfriend.

My friend's mother applied to visit her (her daughter is married to US citizen) 3 times and got rejected for different reasons. If the US government wanted people visit the country more, they have to stop people use visas for different purposes. If someone got married under B-2 visa, they should not allowed to adjust of their status.

I agree with you completely on that last statement. It should be an automatic ban.

Unfair that so many people get rejected due to those situations where people abuse visas.

B1/B2 2004

I believe I mentioned this in a previous comment. I was 22, single, in my last semester in college. It helped that I had visited Canada previously and returned. I think it also helped that my brother and his wife were paying for the trip and coming with me. I presented their visas and my school transcripts. Not a mention was made of assets, income or anything money-wise. I was approved on the spot.

B1/B2 2014 renewal with i130 pending

I was really happy to see that my application for renewal was approved. It helped that I have been employed 5 years with a company whose HDQ are in Dallas. I have 5 entries as B1 and was applying for a renewal to attend a Staff Meeting. I was given 10 yrs again without interview - only picture and fingerprints taken.

I have been able to visit my husband with that visa once. My POE was Dallas and I was there only for a few hours on business, then i would fly that night again and spend 2 weeks on vacation in SF.

Still, I was admitted as B1 as in my previous entries. The screening took 2 mins in which the officer asked where was I staying, who I was staying with and how much money I had on me. He let me go saying GO HAVE FUN.

I plan to visit again in Feb as I have another business trip lined up. I believe that helps.

This isn't what makes it difficult for people from high fraud countries to obtain a tourist visa. There is a perfectly legal route to take for this process. It's the people that come here and do not get married and do not adjust status, work illegally and take jobs away from American citizens that cause the problems.

There are many flaws in the system and people knew about that. Some rich Chinese pregnant women flew to the US so they can delivered their babies here and got the citizenship by birth. It was unfair that I did not intend to marry my then-fiance yet they were assumed I would by tell me on the refusal letter, " file for I-129F".

More than that, K-1 visas holders had to wait months even a year to get their green card get approved yet people who got married under B-2 visas can get theirs less than 5 months in average waiting time. How fair is it?

I applied for B-2 visa and put " going to visit my boyfriend". I got refusal and she wrote down " File for I-129F". Does it set an alarm why they wanted my then-fiance (my now husband) file for I-129F?. They wanted us to file I-129F because they "seem worried" I was going to married him under B-2 visa. That's why she wrote down "file for I-129F".
