I'm gathering all the documents for the k1 package. My concern is my fiance is Algerian his passport will expire in November 2015 . I'm aware of the 6 month validity for the visa. It could possibly take up to 3 months for him to have his passport in hand once he starts the renewal process.

My questions...

1. If we get approved for an interview around the time he is eligible to renew his passport will we be able to reschedule the interview out by 3 months?

2. We were thinking of submitting the k1 package the first week in January. Would it be better (less hassle) to wait until it is closer to May (when he is eligible to renew passport)

3. If all is approved and visa is in hand before may can he actually travel with less than 6 months validity on his passport?

4. Can the passport be renewed after the visa is issued but not yet used? Will the visa be transferred to the new passport if he doesn't get to keep the old passport?

Opinions are appreciated.
