Hey,

My Petitioner naturalized this year and i just finished completing my DS 260 form online i have also sent my Manilla files to NVC.

All my online forms are complete.

My Visa status online still says F2B

My Priority date is Mar 21 2008 and according to the Visa Bulletin my date would become current by January 2015.

Since my petitioner naturalized we were not aware of sending a letter to change my status. However i got enlightened by the stories here.

I would like to opt-out of automatic conversion and retain my F2B status and priority date since F2B is going to be current by January 2015.

Who do i send this letter to?

What address?

Also is it advisable to let NVC be aware that my petitioner has naturalised.

There's no automatic conversion. If your petitioner does not send in their naturalization papers there is no upgrade. So if you want to stay a F2B just do nothing. And wait for January and hope you get an interview date.

***Okay I stand corrected saw what Hypnos said.I would send that in now. It takes a few weeks to upgrade get it done now while you are waiting for January to roll around.**

Yeah I was thinking you were now an IR which you won't be if you're over 21.

I'm unsure as to whether you are obligated to inform the NVC.

Hi everybody,

I will strongly appreciate if someone can tell me where have to notify about F2B retention. I am speaking about opt out provision 6, which allows switch the case from F1 to F2B. It is well known for the people from Filipino. They sending written request to the US embassy in Manila. However I did not find any information about other countries. Several times I called to USCIS, also I have been in local office, however no success. In USCIS website it is written that "you have to send written request to USCIS", but it is not specified to which address?

Thank you very much
