small mistake in visa from embassy

i recevied my passport yesterday and with visa in it after 2 months of ap but small mistake in visa in birth date in visa is 23may1994 but the real is 23march1994 !! will i face problem in port of entery (JFK) ?

Hello, congrats. :) It says that when you receive visa in hand to make sure there are no errors. It says contact visa right away and have it corrected. May 23 is a good day. Its also my birthday date but different year. Good luck and congrats!!!

Mohamed, you need to get the visa fixed ASAP. What this means is that your information in the US system (the one that will print your Green Card) is also wrong - and this could cause ALL sorts of problems in the future with immigration and Social Security. You do not want to be stopped at your POE when it is your responsibility to make sure your visa information is correct before you leave your home country.

Please call or email your embassy/consulate and tell them of the issue and get it fixed. Good luck!

You neesd to take the passport back to the embassy so they can re-issue you a new visa with the correct information. You should not try to travel with a visa that has the incorrect biographical information. You will shoot yourself on the foot if you do it. Best advise is to get it fix before traveling. Good luck!

Unfortunately, that is the only way to fix the mistake is to resubmit your passport, so that the visa can be reissued. How long that will take, not sure. However, it is better to fix it, than you be accused of misrepresentation because you knew it was wrong.

A mistake in the DOB is a big mistake. But since it's the embassy mistake don't worry about it.

You need to send to the visa section an emaill to inform them about the error , they will setup an appointment , you will need to take the passport and the visa package as well , if you have an immigrant or k1 visa. You should get your passport with the visa package back in a week or 2.

By all means get it fixed, as it will cause you many more problems than P.O.E.!

Good luck, but contact embassy at once! Surely they will help you.

Yes you must get it corrected.pls go through the embassy instruction to change it..

There is no question of not to change it.YOU MUST CHANGE it, otherwise it will affect your P.O.E and this date will be printed on your green card too..mistake in DOB is NOT a small mistake,Its a serious and BIG mistake.
