Just wanted to know if anybody has dealt with this before:

Here are the details:

- Currently living on an O-3 visa until 2016. Haven't left country since change of status from F1 to O3 this year.

- Have two passports: one from south america (expired) and one from an european country (valid).

- Entered and have processed my immigration as a citizen from my country in south america.

- Applied for renewal for my passport from my country, over 4 months in and nowhere to be seen. Probably not gonna get here in time for the holidays.

My inquiry is:

When I leave to visit my family, can I apply for my O-3 entry visa at the U.S. Embassy from my country and show them my European passport, ask them to stamp in it there since it's still valid? - and most likely the one i'll be traveling with from now on.

Has anybody had this happen before?

Thanks in advance!

well based on my mother's expierence, she had two passport one expired and other one is valid from the same country, she is a visitor visa to US in the expired passport, when she came she showed them both passport, the valid one and expired one and she was able to enter with no issues.

Can you enter your home country with the other passport?

Thanks for the info! It is helpful.

My issue is that the expired passport and the valid one are from two different countries, and I don't know if they'll have issues with me applying for my entry visa with a different one.
